Key Ingredients
- 3 large Raw Nendran bananas (green plantains)
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 to 2 teaspoons Salt
- ½ cup Water

Method
- Mix the salt and turmeric powder into the water until dissolved, then set aside
- Peel and thinly slice the raw bananas.
- Heat C.B.C. Brand Pure White Coconut Oil in a pan.
- Fry the banana slices until golden and crispy.
- Lightly toss with salt and turmeric water while frying.
- Drain the chips
- Cool down and store
Avial
A signature dish in every Onam Sadhya, Avial is a wholesome mixed vegetable curry prepared with coconut, yoghurt, and aromatic seasonings.

Key Ingredients
- 2 cups long-cut strips vegetable drumstick, raw banana, yam, carrot, beans, pumpkin
- 1 cup fresh grated coconut
- 3 green chilies
- 3/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 cup fresh beaten curd (yogurt)
- 2 tsp raw coconut oil and 1 sprig fresh curry leaves
- 2 tbsp C.B.C. Brand Pure White Coconut Oil
Method
- Place the vegetables in a pan with 1/4 cup water. Cover and cook on medium-low heat until soft but still firm.
- Blend the fresh coconut, green chilies, and cumin seeds with a little water into a coarse paste.
- Stir the coconut paste into the cooked vegetables and simmer for 2 minutes until heated through.
- Turn off the heat before gently stirring in the beaten curd.
- Drizzle C.B.C. Brand Pure White Coconut Oil over the top and scatter fresh curry leaves. Cover with a lid for 5 minutes before serving to trap the aroma.

Coconut Payasam (Thengai Payasam)
A festive celebration deserves something sweet. Coconut Payasam combines coconut milk, jaggery, and aromatic spices to create a classic dessert enjoyed during Onam.
Key Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh grated coconut
- 1 tbsp raw rice (soaked for 20 minutes)
- 3 cups water (divided)
- ¾ cup powdered jaggery (adjust to taste)
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp C.B.C. Brand Pure White Coconut Oil
- 15-20 cashew nuts
- 10-15 raisins
- ¼ cup thick coconut milk or regular milk (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Grind the soaked rice and half of the grated coconut with a small splash of water into a smooth paste.
- Transfer the paste to a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the remaining water and the rest of the grated coconut. Simmer on low heat until the mixture thickens and the rice cooks.
- Add the jaggery & cardamom and stir until fully dissolved.
- In a separate pan, lightly roast the cashew nuts & raisins in C.B.C. Pure White Coconut Oil until golden brown.
- Add the roasted cashew nuts and raisins to the payasam and stir well.
- Stir well, turn off the heat, and serve warm or chilled for your Onam Sadhya.
