CERTIO Frying Oil for Foodservice: Frequently Asked Questions

CERTIO is a premium frying oil from SD Guthrie International, engineered for professional kitchens that need consistent frying performance, extended oil life and operational efficiency. Below are the questions foodservice operators ask most. To discuss your operation, enquire about CERTIO or request a trial.

About CERTIO

What is CERTIO?

CERTIO is a premium frying oil engineered for professional foodservice operations that need consistent, high frying performance, extended oil life and operational efficiency.

CERTIO launched in 2019 under SD Guthrie International and has served professional foodservice operators ever since, providing frying solutions built for consistent performance and efficiency.

CERTIO is engineered for professional frying. Compared with regular palm oil, CERTIO delivers:

  • Longer frying life
  • Better frying stability
  • More consistent food quality
  • Improved operational efficiency

This helps operators reduce oil consumption, change oil less often and maintain consistent product quality.

CERTIO is sourced from a curated, controlled harvesting process and undergoes a specialised refining process that produces a cleaner, lighter-coloured oil. This helps fried food come out with a more appealing, golden colour, and supports consistent frying performance and food quality.

While liquid shortening undergoes additional processing to achieve its specific functionality and characteristics, the closest alternative within the CERTIO range is our Fluidised Palm Oil. It offers the convenience of liquid handling and is designed to deliver reliable frying performance for professional foodservice operations.

Cost & Operational Efficiency

How can CERTIO help foodservice reduce operating costs?

By extending usable oil life and reducing oil changeovers, CERTIO helps operators optimise oil consumption and lower overall frying costs.

CERTIO holds its frying performance longer under commercial conditions, so oil is replaced less often. That means lower oil consumption, less downtime and better kitchen productivity. In internal laboratory trials, CERTIO reduced oil changeovers from 13 times a month to as few as 7 times a month, nearly double the frying stability of regular palm oil.

By extending oil life and reducing oil changes, CERTIO cuts operational interruptions and cleaning time, freeing staff to focus on food preparation and customer service.

The purchase price may differ, but the figure that matters is total frying cost: oil life, oil consumption, labour, cleaning time and operational efficiency. Many operators find CERTIO lowers overall frying cost through better performance and longer oil life.

CERTIO is designed to help foodservice operators achieve:

  • Extended oil life
  • Reduced oil consumption
  • Consistent food quality
  • Reduced kitchen downtime
  • Improved operational efficiency
  • Lower total frying costs
